PepsiCo Gobbles Up Mexican Baker: Expanding its considerable presence in Mexico, the soft drink company bought a majority stake in the country’s largest cookie manufacturer, Empresas Gamesa, for about $300 million. The acquisition was made by Sabritas SA de CV, PepsiCo’s snack food subsidiary in Mexico. Together, Sabritas and Empresas will have annual sales of almost $1 billion.
