The event will be from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church, 3rd Street and Cedar Avenue, Long Beach. The event, called “Face to Face with Hunger and Homelessness,” is co-sponsored by the church’s Board of Outreach.
Guest performers will be gospel singer Willie Mae Wright, a Hunger Project staff member and matriarch of the Wrights gospel singing family; the International Children’s Choir; and Eric Schneider, a singer and songwriter.
The goal is to raise $20,000 from individuals, community donors and corporations. Seating space is available for 1,200 people. For more information, call 633-6388.
