Hollywood : New Recycling Center Open

Share

Hollywood has a new recycling center, starting this week.

The center, which will be managed by the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, will accept glass, cans, plastic, newspaper, white paper, computer paper and colored paper.

The center, which officially opened Monday, is one of the “very few” recycling centers in the Hollywood area, and the only one to accept such a wide variety of recyclables, a spokeswoman for Hollywood-area Councilman Michael Woo said.

Located on a dirt lot just north of the Hollywood United Methodist Church at 6817 Franklin Ave., the center will be open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. seven days a week.

In addition, some residents of the Hollywood Hills this week have begun receiving recycling bins as part of the Los Angeles city curbside recycling program.
