Update from Sherwood Forest: Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Alan Rickman have joined Kevin Costner in the cast of “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves,” Warner Bros. announced Thursday. Set for release next year, the adaptation of the tale of the swashbuckling hero also stars Morgan Freeman and Christian Slater. The production is filming in the forests of central England. Mastrantonio, who will play Maid Marian, has appeared in “The Abyss.” Rickman, known for his role in “Die Hard,” will play the Sheriff of Nottingham.
