Dick Tomey, Arizona football coach, apologized for a player’s apparent locker-room harassment of a female reporter after the Wildcats’ 28-21 victory over UCLA Saturday in the Rose Bowl.
Karen Crouse of the Orange County Register said a naked, unidentified player in the Arizona locker room approached her and said, “What are we, in New England?” The remark was in reference to a Sept. 17 incident in Foxboro, Mass., when Boston Herald reporter Lisa Olson allegedly was harassed by several naked players in the New England Patriots’ locker room.
Speaking on NBC’s “NFL Live” pregame show, Olson said she has received death threats in the wake of her allegation. Olson, who reportedly is on vacation, said, “I have death threats. I have to leave the country.”
