Chris Jackson, the Denver Nuggets’ first-round draft pick, signed a contract said to be worth $10 million over four years.
The point guard from Louisiana State signed the contract just before an evening practice at Regis College.
Jackson and the Nuggets each had been set on five-year deals that differed in terms and compensation. The terms of the deal were not made public, but a report published by the Rocky Mountain News said both sides made concessions to get the contract signed.
The Nuggets had proposed $12.5 million over five years with 15% of the money deferred. Jackson wanted $13 million, with none of the money deferred. Jackson accepted a shorter contract term and the Nuggets agreed to defer less of the money.
