Jury Verdicts in Cincinnati, Ft. Lauderdale

Share

Congratulations on your editorial praising Cincinnati’s verdict against culture cops (Oct. 6). Yes, the public has the right to choose what it wants to see in an art museum, as well as on TV. Too bad you didn’t use the same standard in Los Angeles when you allowed your paper to be used by similar self-appointed “culture cops” to pressure station KCAL into dropping the Dick Tracy cartoons. The show had the top rating in its time slot.

This controversy was in your paper for more than three weeks. Where was your editorial supporting the “right of every American” to choose G-Go Gomez or Joe Jitsu over the “culture cops”? No other city in the country, including Cincinnati, dropped the show. Are your editorials only for the citizens of Cincinnati, but not Los Angeles? Shame, shame for a double standard.
