A student actress was wounded by gunfire while filming a scene in a cemetery with a loaded gun Friday evening, Burbank police reported.

The woman was shot in the chest with a large-caliber pistol in Valhalla Memorial Park in the 10600 block of Victory Boulevard at 5:23 p.m., Lt. Larry Koch said. She was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center, where she was reported in good condition.

Her name was not released pending notification of relatives.

“Incredible as it may seem . . . they used a loaded gun” to make a film scene in the cemetery, Sgt. Ed Skarvana said. “They didn’t know it was loaded or they had forgotten.”

Another performer fired the pistol during the scene, and the woman was wounded on camera, he said.

Police were questioning several people involved with what apparently is a student film project, but no arrests had been made. The name of the students’ school was not known.
