The New York Knicks reasserted the NBA’s dominance of pro basketball as Patrick Ewing scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a 117-101 victory over POP 84 Split of Yugoslavia in the title game of the McDonald’s Open at Barcelona, Spain.

The Knicks had to go into overtime in their first game to defeat Scavolini Pesaro of Italy and avoid becoming the first NBA club to lose in international play.
