SANTA ANA : Pedestrian Hit by Bus Dies in Hospital
A 48-year-old pedestrian died Sunday from injuries sustained when he was hit by a bus, police said.
Jorge Alberto Tobar Santano, of Santa Ana stepped off the north curb at 1600 W. 1st St. about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.
Witnesses told police he had stepped off the curb backward, apparently talking to someone and facing away from traffic when he was struck by a westbound Orange County Transit District bus. He died Sunday morning at Western Medical Center.
