Point Loma Nazarene Rolls Past Cal Baptist

Point Loma Nazarene’s 11th-ranked women’s volleyball team defeated visiting Cal Baptist Tuesday, 15-13, 3-15, 15-10, 15-5, in a Golden State Athletic Conference game. Roberta Simpson led PLNC (19-6, 9-0) with 13 kills and LeAnne Lopez added 47 assists. Cal Baptist fell to 14-12 and 5-4.
MEN’S SOCCER
Pacific Christian College defeated Christian Heritage, 2-1, in Fullerton. Paul Ermie scored the goal for Christian Heritage (2-6).
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Freshman Rachel Gagliano scored the first two goals of her collegiate career in overtime to give US International a 4-3 victory over visiting Cal State Dominguez Hills. Santana High’s Nicky Roche and Sandra Wright also scored for USIU (6-8-1).
GOLF
US International’s women’s team was fifth after two rounds of the University of Washington Invitational in Seattle. USIU trailed first-place Stanford by 30 strokes. USIU’s Kim Millies and Wendela Manting were tied for 19th individually at 161. The third and final round will be played today.
