Menotti Will Stay With Spoleto: A tentative agreement has been reached to ensure composer Gian Carlo Menotti’s involvement with the Spoleto Festival U.S.A., the arts festival he created in 1977. The exact nature of Menotti’s involvement was not defined, but he will continue as festival artistic director at least through next year. Last week Menotti said that he wanted to resign over a dispute centering on his authority and responsibility.
