Four tennis players banned from the Stockholm Open 10 months ago have been readmitted to the tournament after pledging not to play in South Africa again.
Americans Jay Berger, Kevin Curren and Richey Reneberg and Australian Darren Cahill are on a new United Nations blacklist of players who competed in South Africa after Sept. 1, 1989.
“But they have all asked to be removed from the list and pledged not to play in South Africa again,” tournament director Johan Flink said. “We are delighted that the issue has been solved.”
