Hubbard Explains Proposal to Everett, Board of Directors
R.D. Hubbard, who is attempting to gain control of Hollywood Park, met with Marge Everett, chief operating officer of Hollywood Park, and members of the board of directors at a special meeting at Everett’s home Friday night.
Hubbard explained his proposal, which would give him control of the track, to the board and then left.
Hubbard has stated that he would initiate a proxy fight to gain control of the track if he is not given control of the board of directors. Hubbard owns 9.9% of Hollywood Park stock, the most allowable under the structure of the public company.
Hubbard owns The Woodlands, a horse and greyhound racing facility in Kansas, and Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico. Neither Hubbard nor Everett would comment on the contents of the meeting.
