LOCAL : Shipped Arms Just Movie Props
A grenade, shell casings and a disassembled rifle in unclaimed luggage caused quite a stir at Los Angeles International Airport until detectives found out that they were movie props owned by an actor returning from the East Coast.
The bags apparently arrived Sunday aboard a United Airlines flight from Washington’s Dulles Airport.
“An individual who shipped the luggage missed a flight out of Dulles and he didn’t arrive until today. He was an actor participating in movie filming on the East Coast,” detective Richard Kensic of the Police Department’s Criminal Conspiracy Section said Tuesday.
Actor Jose Alvarez, 26, of Los Angeles was questioned about the incident and released, detective Edward Brimmer said.
