Jetliner Lands Safely After Wheel Falls Off

ORLANDO, Fla. — A Continental Airlines jet with 85 people aboard made a safe emergency landing Thursday after losing a wheel during takeoff. “The right outer main gear wheel came off of the aircraft,” a Federal Aviation Administration official said. “There are two wheels on each gear, but one of them is what came off.”
