Fillmore 17, Nordhoff 7--Rey Garnica caught an 84-yard touchdown pass and kicked a 24-yard field goal to lead Fillmore (8-0, 2-0) to a homecoming victory despite the absence of star tailback Tory Cabral, who missed the game because of an ankle injury.
Garnica, who had five catches for 156 yards, combined with quarterback Art Sosa, who was seven of 11 for 179 yards, for the 84-yard score on Fillmore’s second play of the second half to break a 7-7 tie.
