COLLEGE FOOTBALL REPORT : Weekday Update : UCLA : Injuries Take Severe Toll at Right Tackle
Coach Terry Donahue said that offensive right tackle Derek Stevens injured his ankle in Saturday’s game against Oregon. Moreover, Stevens’ backup, Rick Fuller, has a knee injury.
Both players are listed as doubtful for Saturday’s game against Washington at Seattle.
Donahue said he might switch guards Vaughn Parker or Marc Wilder to tackle.
Donahue also said that Andre Farr, a backup nose guard, injured his thumb against Oregon and may be lost for the remaining two games if a screw has to be inserted.
Defensive tackle Brian Kelly suffered a pinched nerve in his neck and he’s also listed as doubtful.
Donahue also said that defensive end Mike Chalenski, who has a chronic shoulder injury, may be available for the Washington game. He didn’t play against Oregon.
