Identity of Man Found Slain in Rail Yard Sought

Los Angeles police detectives are seeking the identity of a young man found shot to death last month in a Southern Pacific rail yard near downtown Los Angeles, authorities said Tuesday.

The victim, wounded in the chest, was discovered at 1 a.m. Sept. 23 in the switching area at 1300 N. Spring St., police said. He was described as Latino, 17 to 20 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police have discovered no motive for the shooting and have made no arrests in connection with the killing, Frio said. Anyone with information about the crime or who knows the victim’s identity was urged to call homicide detectives at 485-2671 weekdays or 485-2504 nights and weekends.
