San Pasqual 17, Oceanside 17--Curtis Marsh ran back the opening kickoff 98 yards for San Pasqual (3-5-2, 2-3-2). San Pasqual defensive back Brian Sandland intercepted an Oceanside pass deep in San Pasqual territory in the final minute to insure the tie. Oceanside (4-4-2, 3-2-2) had 228 total yards to 227 for San Pasqual.

El Camino 31, Escondido 7--El Camino (6-4, 6-1) assured itself of first place when quarterback Noel Prefontaine completed eight of 16 passes for 142 yards and three touchdowns.

Carlsbad 16, San Marcos 15--Brian Byrne completed 12 of 19 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns to lead visiting Carlsbad (7-2-1, 4-2-1). Mark Frazier rushed 25 times for 187 yards and a touchdown for San Marcos (6-3-1, 4-2-1).

Ramona 56, Rancho Bernardo 14--Sarn Salmon ran for 127 yards and three touchdowns in 23 carries and Tom Smith rushed 10 times for 49 yards and two touchdowns for Ramona (5-5, 3-4).

City Central League

Madison 35, Hoover 14--Madison’s ground attack proved to be too much for Hoover as Willie Fejiren had touchdown runs of 35 and 34 yards. Fejiren ended the night with 103 yards in nine carries for the Central League champion.

City Eastern League

Point Loma 41, Patrick Henry 17--Tobin Gault completed nine of 10 passes for 167 yards, and Marlon Manassa rushed for 143 yards in 13 carries to lead second-ranked Point Loma (8-1, 3-1). Matt Boxell had three catches for 94 yards and Shaunta Baker had three catches for 77 yards for the visiting Pointers. Patrick Henry is 4-5-1, 0-3-1.

City Harbor League

Coronado 22, Christian 14--Marco Palumbo rushed 16 times for 94 yards to lead host Coronado (5-5, 2-2). Jon Welan had 3 1/2 of Coronado’s seven sacks in the game. Coronado amassed 183 yards rushing and 121 passing. Christian is 3-6, 2-2.

City Western League

Kearny 28, Mission Bay 6--Kearny (8-1-1, 3-0-1) tied La Jolla for the league championship, but it will get the league’s top-seeding in the playoffs because Kearny beat La Jolla earlier in the season.

University City 12, USDHS 8--Quarterback Garland Sauls completed nine of 18 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns, one to Erik Neusch for 30 yards and the other to Pat Cottrell for 70. Meanwhile, Doug Abts had 81 yards in 14 carries. University City finished 4-5, 2-2 and USDHS finished 5-5, 2-2.

Grossmont 3-A League

El Capitan 20, Granite Hills 17--Andy Cleland caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Bobby Vickery in the last minute to give El Capitan (1-9, 1-3) its first victory. Eric Rockhold rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns in 14 carries. Granite Hills fell to 4-6, 2-2.

Helix 24, Mt. Miguel 6--Jarrett Parr carried 24 times and gained 175 yards, including 28 on a touchdown run that opened the scoring. Earl Bryers led Mt. Miguel with 77 yards in 29 carries. Helix finished 8-1, 4-0 and Mt. Miguel finished 6-4, 2-2.

Metro League

Southwest 14, Castle Park 0--Quarterback Andy Quinn completed six of 10 passes for 118 yards with a touchdown and an interception for 10th-ranked Southwest (8-2, 6-1). Southwest’s Riley Washington carried 24 times for 123 yards and a touchdown and Junior Ochoa carried 13 times for 65 yards. Castle Park fell to 5-5, 3-4.

Palomar League

Vista 23, Orange Glen 12--Vista (5-5, 5-2) won its fifth game in a row to finish second in the league. Quarterback Eric Jencks completed seven of eight passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns.

1-A Eight-Man League

La Jolla Country Day 54, Bishop’s 7--Rashaam Salaam ran for 257 yards and four touchdowns in 17 carries, giving him 45 touchdowns on the season. Sean Saadeh completed five of seven passes for 80 yards and four touchdowns for LJCD (9-1). Bishop’s fell to 8-2. The teams meet Saturday for the eight-man section championship.

Nonleague

La Jolla 20, Marian 7--La Jolla’s Nick Alford earned his second consecutive 1,000-yard season by rushing for 166 yards in 14 carries and two touchdowns.
