Share

The Dallas Mavericks’ Roy Tarpley collapsed and appeared to be seriously injured after going in for a layup during a 111-99 victory over the Orlando Magic in Dallas Friday night.

Tarpley’s right knee buckled and he had to be carried off near the end of the first quarter. Doctors had to push Tarpley’s kneecap back in place; he is expected to be sidelined for two weeks.

In his previous two games, Tarpley had totaled 55 points and 21 rebounds. The Mavericks are also without guard Fat Lever, who will undergo arthroscopic surgery on a knee next week.
