On The Sidelines : Lemus Nears Boxing World Cup
BOMBAY, India —
Light middleweight Juan Lemus of Cuba outpointed Robin Reid of England today to reach the quarterfinals of the World Cup boxing championships.
Also advancing in the light middleweight class were Mukund Killekar of India, who beat Wolfram Schmidt of Germany on points, and George Onyango of Kenya who outpointed Abdel Karim Kabarry of Egypt.
In a bantamweight bout, world champion Enrique Carrion of Cuba outpointed India’s Dhanasanjayan.
