The Big Apple NIT basketball tournament will begin tonight and, for the first time in its six years, it will be bracketed ahead of time.
Tonight, Vanderbilt is at Arkansas, one of two Final Four teams in the field; New Orleans will be at Oklahoma, the No. 1 team in last year’s final regular-season poll; Memphis State will be at Boston College; Marquette will be at No. 6 Duke, last year’s NCAA runner-up; Austin Peay will be at No. 3 Arizona, and East Tennessee State will be at Brigham Young.
Thursday night, Fordham will be at Notre Dame and No. 19 Temple will be at Iowa. The second round will be Friday and Saturday, with the semifinals and final set for Madison Square Garden Nov. 21 and 23.
