Tagliabue Decision Draws Unfriendly Fire
I am deeply incensed at NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue’s desire to move the 1993 Super Bowl out of Phoenix. This pandering to pressure groups is absolutely shameful, particularly in light of the fact that a majority of Arizona voters rejected the King holiday.
To penalize a state/city because of a voting outcome is wrong. I dislike Marion Barry’s criminal antics and political views, yet I would not boycott our nation’s capital for this reason.
The people of Arizona have spoken and should not be penalized by a partisan NFL. Tagliabue and the NFL should stick to sports, not politics.
