Allegheny County District Attorney Robert Colville will investigate what happened to as much as $100,000 reported missing from the University of Pittsburgh’s Golden Panthers boosters club.
The university has given Colville an internal audit that showed irregularities in the handling of funds. University officials have declined to reveal the total amount missing from booster contributions.
Athletic director Ed Bozik requested the audit last April after a Golden Panthers contributor couldn’t find his name on a list of donors. The complaint came about the same time Bob Heddleston, the former executive director of the Golden Panthers, resigned after an investigation determined two donations totaling $2,000 were unaccounted for.
