Rob Landtiser blocked a 33-yard field-goal attempt by Steve Molina with 58 seconds left to preserve Canyon Country Canyon’s 21-20 victory over Bishop Amat Friday in a Division I game at Canyon.

Canyon, which advanced to the semifinals for the eighth consecutive year, had taken its first lead midway through the fourth quarter when senior tailback David McDivitt ran 62 yards for a touchdown. Matt George’s extra point made it 21-20 with just 6:52 left.

Bishop Amat drove to the 11-yard line before giving way to Molina, who had already made field goals of 27 and 41 yards. A delay of game penalty on Bishop Amat made it a 33-yard attempt and Landtiser, rushing from the right side, deflected it.
