Moorpark established Marshall law last week with a couple of overwhelming victories spurred by its standout forward. Marshall scored a career-high 34 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a 100-49 trouncing of Antelope Valley and came back with 20 points and 11 rebounds in a 90-35 blowout of Cypress.

Obviously, the plan with Marshall is to get her the ball. An all-conference player two seasons ago, she sat out last season but has not missed a beat in helping Moorpark build a 5-1 record.

“She’s one of the best athletes I’ve had,” Moorpark Coach Gary Abraham said. “I don’t think the layoff hurt her that much at all. I think she’s a little better shooter from outside than she was as a freshman.”

Marshall (21.5 points and 11.8 rebounds per game), an El Camino Real High product, teams with sophomore Angie Long (9.5 and 13.2) to give Moorpark a potent and physical forward combination. Although the year off took Marshall out of the recruiting limelight, Abraham said, “I’m sure people are going to start noticing her.”
