SPORTSCOPE : Hermosa Beach Is Site for Volleyball Clinic

Hermosa Beach joins the Assn. of Volleyball Professionals in sponsoring a clinic Saturday and Sunday at the Pier Avenue sand courts. It is open to youth age 9 to 14 and runs from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost is $20. Information: (213) 318-0280.

The cities of Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach are offering a combined men’s indoor volleyball league. Two leagues of six teams each are planned. Three-quarters of the members of each team must reside in either city. The cost is $100, plus $1 for each non-resident. A $50 forfeit fee is also required. Deadline to enroll is Dec. 7. Pop’s All-Pro Baseball Camp is back for a pair of winter sessions at the Lunada Bay Little League. The dates are Dec. 17-21 and Dec. 26-30. The camps feature scheduled appearances by professional baseball players. They run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $175 per session. The second South Bay Baseball Camp will be held Dec. 27-30 at Mira Costa High. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to youths age 7 to 17. John Orton, a catcher with the Angels, is scheduled to take part in the instruction. The cost is $190. Information: (213) 318-1577.

Inglewood is forming adult basketball leagues and tournaments to be played at Rogers Park. Tournament play begins Dec. 10 and costs $40, plus the cost of referees. League play begins Jan. 7 and costs $100 per team, plus referee fees. Information: (213) 412-5370.

Cal State Dominguez Hills soccer Coach Marine Cano will sponsor two sessions of his annual soccer camp. Session I will be Dec. 26-28. The cost is $65. Session II runs Dec. 29-30. The cost is $50. A special rate for all five days is $85. Instruction is for boys and girls age 5 to 13 and runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. A T-shirt is included. The Los Angeles Heat will sponsor soccer skills camps at La Marina School in Manhattan Beach and Columbia Park in Torrance on Jan. 2-5. Sessions, designed for boys and girls age 5 and 6, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The cost is $100 per player. Groups of six or more players receive a $20 per player discount.
