SANTA PAULA : Melton Named to 4th Term as Mayor
Santa Paula City Council elected John A. F. Melton to his fourth one-year term as mayor in 16 years.
Melton, a retired area manager for Southern California Edison Co., was reelected in November to his fifth four-year term on the City Council and was selected to lead the city Monday.
Melton, who says the job takes 40 to 60 hours a week, will receive the same $300 monthly as other council members.
Councilman Les Maland was elected mayor pro tem. Maland, who is in the middle of his sixth term on the council, is a retired engineer.
