LAGUNA NIGUEL : Parkway to Close for Cityhood Parade
The city’s main roadway will be closed for about five hours todayfor a cityhood parade that is expected to draw up to 10,000 spectators.
Santa Claus will be grand marshal for the 2,500-entry parade along Crown Valley Parkway, to be held in honor of the city’s first birthday. The parade will begin at 10 a.m.
Crown Valley Parkway will be closed in both directions from Niguel Road to Golden Lantern/Moulton Parkway from 8 a.m. until about 1 p.m. Southbound Moulton Parkway will be closed from Nueva Vista to Crown Valley Parkway. Police Chief Joe Davis said parade-goers should arrive by 9:30 a.m. and can find parking on surface streets and at some businesses. About 200 parking spaces will be available at an office building parking lot at Town Center Drive and Alicia Parkway.
