Bavaro Agrees to Pay Fine for Bumping Official

Tight end Mark Bavaro of the New York Giants agreed Friday to pay a fine of a reported $7,500 levied by the NFL for bumping an official during a 31-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 25.

The incident occurred seconds after the Eagles’ Byron Evans returned an interception 22 yards for a touchdown. When Bavaro became involved in a shoving match, umpire Dave Hamilton ended up on the ground after either tripping or being pushed inadvertently.
