Kendra Anzaldi, the 3-year-old sister of a missing 14-month-old Golden Hills toddler, was placed in a county facility because of the tense atmosphere in her home, police said.
Detective Dan Dennis of the San Diego child abuse unit, which is investigating the disappearance of Crystal Anzaldi, said Kendra was taken to a home for children because of the “stress the family is under.” Dennis said the child should not be left at home under such circumstances.
Dennis said the child will be returned to the family when when conditions improve.
Police said the search for Crystal, who has been missing since Sunday morning, is continuing, and police have no information about where she might be.
The toddler was described as being 30 inches tall, weighing 30 pounds and “chubby.” She has sandy-blond hair, brown eyes and was wearing only a diaper when she disappeared.
