BETTING WITH SURELOCK : THE SILICON SLEUTH
SURELOCK lost $120 when Bold Costa, his key horse, ran out of the money in the ninth race. SURELOCK doesn’t like turf races for maidens 3 years old and older much more than he does turf races involving 2-year-olds. But the computer will take a chance on today’s fourth race, betting $40 to win and place on Majestic Moment. (SURELOCK’s wagers will be canceled if the race is not run on turf.)
SURELOCK’s Wed. Bankroll: $1,528
Wednesday’s Loss: $120
Current Bankroll: $1,408
Bob Mieszerski lost $40 when Seaside, the first horse in his win parlay, ran next to last in the seventh race. Bob’s bets today are a $30 exacta box Kimberley-Miss Paster and a $20 box Kimberly-Secret Angel in the eighth.
Bob’s Wed. Bankroll: $1,453.20
Wednesday’s Loss: $40
Current Bankroll: $1,413.20
Both started with $2,000 bankrolls.
