Nose guard Bob Golic became a father when his wife, Jackie, delivered an 8-pound 12-ounce girl Tuesday. She was named Jenna Catherine.

Golic’s wife was due Monday, when the Raiders played the Detroit Lions at Pontiac, Mich., but Golic predicted that she would deliver Tuesday.

“I got out of the team meeting (to go to the hospital) and after some of the tackles I missed, it was probably a good thing for me,” Golic said. “I went from the airport at 5:30 a.m. to the hospital and they induced labor about 7.”

The Raiders have teamed with the Marine Corps to stage an annual Toys for Tots collection at Sunday’s game against the Bengals at the Coliseum. Fans are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for distribution to needy children in the Southland. Marines will be stationed at the Coliseum gates to collect the toys.
