COUNTYWIDE : Caltrans Begins Removing Graffiti

Armed with rollers and more than $1,200 worth of paint, workers with the California Department of Transportation set out this week to clean up the graffiti scrawled across highway areas in Ventura County.

Overpasses on the Simi Valley Freeway, bridges along the county’s eastern end and drainage ditches in the city of Ventura are among the areas targeted for repainting, officials said.

Caltrans has chosen grays and various shades of brown paint to match the colors of the existing structures.
