Here’s Some Advice for Sports Reporters
I think that all sportswriters, men and women, should resolve to stay out of postgame locker rooms in 1991. The story of the game is the game, not what the winners or losers have to say once it’s over. When reporters attend plays, operas and the ballet, they don’t feel compelled to go backstage and check things out before they put their words into print. Why, of all areas of entertainment, should sports be the exception?
