Ram defensive end Doug Reed said that Cincinnati safety David Fulcher should not have accused the San Francisco 49ers of dirty play after the Bengals’ 20-17 overtime loss to the 49ers last Sunday. Other teams have made similar charges against San Francisco, but not the Rams, who will play host to the 49ers Monday night.

“I’m not going to elaborate on that because I think Cincinnati is dirty, too,” Reed said. “Dirty deserves dirty. There’s some things that they do that I don’t think they have room to talk.”

And what might those things be?

“I feel like if you’re a professional football team, why do you have to do all the trick plays and things like that?” Reed said, referring to the Bengals’ penchant for gadget formations. “If you really want to be considered the best, then line up and just flat beat somebody.

“But when you sit there preparing your offense to wait for a team to put in their defensive change or whatever then you hurry up and hike the ball, I think that’s dirty. I think that’s the dirtiest.

“I’d rather you cut me and bite me and do all the other things, at least I know that I can bite you back, and we’ll see who bites the hardest.”
