The Martha Graham Company has announced casting for its Jan. 4-6 engagement at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa.
Jan. 4, 8 p.m.: “Appalachian Spring” (Copland)--the Bride: Christine Dakin, the Husbandman: Donlin Foreman, the Pioneering Woman: Maxine Sherman, the Revivalist: Lyndon Branaugh.
“Deep Song” (Cowell): Joyce Herring.
“Temptations of the Moon” (Bartok): Crescent Moon: Thea Nerissa Barnes; Velvet Night: Steve Rooks.
“Maple Leaf Rag” (Joplin): Terese Capucilli, Floyd Flynn, company.
Jan. 5, 8 p.m.: “Diversion of Angels” (Dello Joio): Couple in White: Sherman, Foreman; Couple in Red: Kathy Buccellato, Kenneth Topping; Couple in Yellow: Debra Kantor, Christopher Dolder; Fourth Man: Mark Borneman.
“Steps in the Street” (Wallingford Riegger): Laura Jimenez, company.
“Herodiade” (Hindemith) : A Woman: Dakin, Her Attendant: Denise Vale.
“Acts of Light” (Nielsen): Conversation of Lovers: Sherman, Topping; Lament: Capucilli, company; Ritual to the Sun: Sherman, Topping, company.
Jan. 6, 2 p.m.: “Appalachian Spring”: Herring, Flynn, Vale, Dolder.
“Deep Song”: Capucilli.
“Temptations of the Moon” and “Maple Leaf Rag”: same as on Jan. 4.
