LOCAL : Brando Prosecutors Denied Aid

A judge refused today to help prosecutors trying to get Marlon Brando’s daughter back from Tahiti to testify at her brother’s murder trial.
Superior Court Judge Joel Rudof issued a ruling in Santa Monica saying Cheyenne Brando’s precarious mental state was the reason he refused to help the district attorney.
“At this point it appears that unless her condition changes, she will not be able to testify,” said Sandi Gibbons, a district attorney’s office spokeswoman.
Christian Brando, 32, is charged with the May 16 murder of his sister’s Tahitian lover, 26-year-old Dag Drollet, in Marlon Brando’s Mulholland estate. Trial has been set for Jan. 14.
