SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

The third time wasn’t a charm for Brea-Olinda High School.

Winner of its own tournament two years in a row, Brea fell, 69-61, to Montclair in a Brea Tournament semifinal game Friday night.

Inexperienced Brea (4-8) trailed by two with 3 minutes 11 seconds left in the first half, but Montclair pulled away.

“We still don’t quite know how to sustain our intensity for an entire game,” Brea Coach Phil Henderson said. “We had it in spurts, but not enough to win.”
