SHORT TAKES : Tartikoff’s Condition Improves

Brandon Tartikoff, who made NBC a winner, was recuperating today after a car crash that also injured his 8-year-old daughter.

Tartikoff, 41, was upgraded Wednesday from serious to satisfactory condition with a broken rib and pelvis, a hospital spokeswoman said. His daughter, Calla Lianne, was listed in serious condition with a head injury.

Tartikoff’s vehicle collided with another near his vacation home on Lake Tahoe, the Highway Patrol said.

Tartikoff became at age 31 the youngest entertainment president in the network’s history. He pushed the bottom-rated network into first place five years later with programs such as “Cheers” and “The Cosby Show.”
