The Buffalo Sabres extended their unbeaten streak to six games Wednesday night by overcoming a three-goal deficit to defeat the New York Islanders, 5-4, at Buffalo.

Pierre Turgeon and Dave Andreychuk scored two goals each and Alexander Mogilny added the other goal for the Sabres, who are 4-0-2 in their last six games.

“We had to get some consistency,” Andreychuk said. “We had a flat effort at the start, but it shows a lot of character in the team the way we came back.”
