Special Screening: Orion Television Entertainment will conduct a screening of two episodes of the television series “WIOU” dealing with a character’s blindness on Monday for leaders of Los Angeles’ disabled community. On the series, which is about the inner workings of a big-city television newsroom, weatherman Floyd Graham (Dick Van Patten) is becoming blind. The episodes deal with the changes that are made to accommodate him in the workplace. The screening at TODD/AO production facility in Hollywood will also debut network television’s use of narrated descriptions, in which those with visual impairments can hear narrated descriptions between blocks of dialogue.
