From Times Staff and Wire reports

A 31-year-old Burbank man was arrested after leading police on a winding car chase on and off several Valley freeways Sunday night that ended in North Hollywood with two wrecked police cars.

Police started following Thomas Dragomer about 8:25 p.m. on Sepulveda Boulevard near Plummer Street in Sepulveda because they believed the car he was driving matched the description of a stolen vehicle. Police later determined that the car was not stolen.

Police said Dragomer drove on surface streets and got on and off the San Diego and Ventura freeways before entering the Hollywood Freeway at the Burbank Boulevard on-ramp in North Hollywood. On the freeway, police said, Dragomer suddenly slammed on his brakes causing one police car chasing him to rear-end the other. No one was injured in the wreck.

Dragomer ran into nearby bushes, but police caught him after a short foot pursuit. Police said Dragomer told them that he was a drug addict and refused to stop his car because he was scared.
