Grossmont 2-A League

Valhalla 91, Santana 55--Valhalla’s Mark Dillon hit three three-pointers and finished with 19 points. Dillon is on course to break the San Diego Section single-season record for three pointers, held by Tony Clark, who last year made 94 for Christian. Dillon currently has 87 with nine games to go.

Also for Valhalla, Matt Pettigrew led all scorers with 20 points and Julian Bonner pulled down 13 rebounds.

Valhalla, the two-time defending Grossmont 2-A champions improved to 14-5, 1-0.

For Santana, Chad Barry had four three-pointers and finished with 15 points.

Grossmont 79, El Cajon 65--Jared Larson broke open an otherwise close game by leading Grossmont on a 22-14 run in the third quarter. Larson finished with seven points, 15 rebounds and seven steals. Jean Beauville also scored 20 points for Grossmont (10-5). Mike Stadler had 28 points and 11 rebounds for El Cajon (4-7). Grossmont led 40-37, at halftime.

Palomar League

Torrey Pines 86, Orange Glen 46--Craig Brown scored a game high 26 points and sophomore center Scott Pollard came back after missing 11 games with 13 points and 11 blocks for Torrey Pines (13-4, 3-1).

Rancho Buena Vista 79, San Dieguito 65--Matt de la Pena scored 29 points, but San Dieguito (2-2) could not catch up to RBV’s early 12-point lead. Darryl Parker and Bond Schoeffel both scored 19 and Brad Grubaugh had 18 points for RBV (7-8, 2-2). RBV led 33-21 at the half.

Fallbrook 85, Vista 64--Chris Miller scored a game-high 30 points to lead Fallbrook (10-6, 3-1). Steve Pack added 19 for Fallbrook, which went on an 18-1 run in the second quarter. Vista is 5-9, 1-3.

City Western League

Kearny 71, University City 56--Darnay Scott scored 23 points to lead Kearny (13-3, 1-0). Elliot Alexander led University City (6-6, 0-1) with 20 points.

USDHS 73, Mission Bay 61--Eric Barajas scored a game-high 31 points and David Withers added 24 for eighth-ranked USDHS (11-2, 1-0).

City Harbor League

Clairemont 79, St. Augustine 75--Alex Love 34 points, 12 rebounds and six assists and sophomore John Brady added 22 points and 11 rebounds for Clairemont (5-7, 1-0).

City Central League

Lincoln 93, Madison 76--Visiting Lincoln (9-8) won its 31st consecutive league game. For Lincoln, Berry Randle had 22 points and 14 rebounds, Josa Baker 22 points and seven assists and John Akridge 13 points and seven assists for Lincoln. Madison (7-6) was led by Matt Baker, who scored 21 points, and Deaune Boyd and Donny Collins, who scored 14 points apiece.

Metro Conference

Chula Vista 89, Hilltop 71--Courtenay Brown had 27 points and Chris White 23 for Hilltop, but the Lancers were seeing Green after they blew a 45-43 halftime lead. Hilltop (1-5) couldn’t stop Jerome Green, who had 23 points, and Shane Howell (27) as Chula Vista (4-2, 10-8) went on a 21-7 romp in the third quarter.

Sweetwater 69, Bonita Vista 64--Melvin Rushing scored a game-high 21 points to lead Sweetwater, which outscored Bonita Vista, 21-9, in the third quarter. Mendel Nafarrete added 19 for Sweetwater (13-4, 6-0). Bonita Vista is 10-4, 4-2.

Avocado League

Ramona 87, Escondido 51--Three players scored in double figures to lift Ramona. Travis Knight scored 27, Clint Cook 22 and Alfonso De La Nuez 17. Knight also had 10 rebounds. Ramona (8-4, 3-1) led 28-10 at the conclusion of the first quarter.

San Pasqual 68, El Camino 56--Erik Meek had 34 points and 19 rebounds and Richard Stark added 14 points to San Pasqual (7-5, 3-1) to an upset of third-ranked El Camino (10-3, 3-1). Heath McCoy led the Wildcats with 23 points and Jeff Reeves added 16.

Carlsbad 74, Oceanside 55--Kewan Shariff had 17 points, Matt Tague added 16 and Chad Nelson scored 15 for Carlsbad (8-7, 3-1). Marlon Jenkins led Oceanside (5-10, 2-2).

Rancho Bernardo 71, San Marcos 59--Rancho Bernardo improved to 3-9, 1-3. San Marcos fell to 3-7, 0-4.

City Eastern League

Mira Mesa 52, Point Loma 47--Ryan Cunningham had a game-high 22 points to lead Mira Mesa (9-6, 1-0). Mira Mesa held on despite converting just four of 15 free throws in the fourth quarter. Point Loma is 2-11, 0-1.

Serra 69, Morse 52--Fourth-ranked Morse got behind, 21-7, and then tied it 28-28 with 5:43 remaining in the third quarter. Serra regained control and Morse fouled its way out of the game in the fourth quarter, sending Serra to the free-throw line 24 times. Serra made good on 17 of them. Justin Wible, a 6-2 guard, led Serra (7-4, 1-0) with a game-high 24 points, including 13 of the first 21. Darnell Cherry led Morse (9-5, 0-1) with 14.

Nonleague

Patrick Henry 54, La Jolla 45--John Pike scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and Marlon Franklin added nine points and 13 rebounds for Patrick Henry (6-9). La Jolla fell to 0-12.

three-pointers and John Price had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Mission Bay (3-10, 0-1).
