The Sidelines : Big East Shapes Up for Play
West Virginia and Pittsburgh could kick off Big East Conference football as well as their seasons when they meet on Aug. 31 in Morgantown.
“I’d like to start (conference play) this fall unless something were to occur unexpectedly within the next two months,” said West Virginia Athletic Director Ed Pastilong.
Officials from West Virginia and other members of the new Big East football conference will meet later this month with league Commissioner Mike Tranghese. Tranghese said they will discuss the possibility of starting conference play next season.
