ROUNDUP : Antelopes Dash Past Saugus, 72-67

Brock Chase scored a team-high 22 points and Raynell Dunbar added 19 to lead Antelope Valley High to a 72-67 upset victory over Saugus in a Golden League game at Saugus.

Greg Yumbar scored 16 points and added 19 rebounds for Saugus (12-7, 1-3 in league play).

Chris Hernandez had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Centurions, who were outscored, 20-8, in the third quarter. Antelope Valley improved to 8-11, 2-2.

Santa Clara 74, Fillmore 45--Art Barron scored a game-high 23 points to help the Saints (16-4, 3-0) beat Fillmore in a Frontier League game at Santa Clara.

Poky Sanchez and Mike Richardson each scored 11 for Fillmore.

Hart 68, Schurr 60--Tony Valenzuela scored 18 points and Ali Peek had 15 points and 10 rebounds for host Hart (12-5, 3-0) in a Foothill League game. Doug Rich had nine assists and Marty Downen added 15 points.

Campbell Hall 73, Brentwood 63--Campbell Hall guards Austin McKellar (17 points) and C. J. Thompkins (23 and six assists) carried the Vikings (16-0, 3-0) to a Delphic League win.

Faith Baptist 75, Buckley 58--Senior forward Fernando Garcia scored 22 points and added 19 rebounds to lead Faith Baptist to its first Delphic League win.

Burroughs 68, Burbank 57--Rick Mulloy had 25 points and 12 rebounds and Gabe Colon added 17 points for host Burroughs (8-7, 2-1) in a Foothill League game.

Harvard 72, El Segundo 57--Markus Puhvel scored a team-high 16 points to pace the Saracens (13-3, 4-0) to a San Fernando League victory at Harvard.

Bell-Jeff 65, St. Genevieve 52--Marc Sailer had 18 points and 12 rebounds and Ignacio Castro added 16 points for Bell-Jeff in a San Fernando Valley League game.

Montclair Prep 46, L.A. Baptist 44--J.T. Billingslea’s 15-foot basket at the buzzer lifted the Mounties (13-2, 4-0) to an Alpha League win. Dan Shackelford led L.A. Baptist with 14 points.

Village Christian 68, Maranatha 64--John Brown scored 18 points and Vic Lozano finished with 16 to help the Crusaders (11-6, 3-0) in an Alpha League game.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Simi Valley 101, Camarillo 75--Nikki Spindler scored 27 points and Lori Church added 24 to help the Pioneers (9-7, 3-3) defeat Camarillo (2-4) and set a school record for points in a game.

Simi Valley’s Stephanie Hale hit a short jump shot with 25 seconds left to break the old record of 100 points set in 1981. Kristin Benson scored 26 points for Camarillo.

Buena 52, Rio Mesa 44--Jennifer Wells scored 17 points to lead Buena (12-1, 4-1) in a Channel League game at Rio Mesa. Marion Jones had 17 points for Rio Mesa.

Hart 60, Schurr 40--Anjanette Dionne scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Indians (16-3, 3-0) to a Foothill League victory over host Schurr (9-9, 1-2).

Carol Gruhlke added 14 points and 15 rebounds for the Indians, who outrebounded Shurr, 53-22.

Thousand Oaks 57, Westlake 53--Michelle Palmisano scored 30 points and Sasha Scardino added 16 for host Thousand Oaks (17-1, 6-0) in a Marmonte League game.

St. Bernard 52, Chaminade 37--Maria Costa scored 15 points and Katy Bloodgood had 12 rebounds for Chaminade (12-5, 2-2) in a Mission League game.

St. Bonaventure 60, Moorpark 28--Joana Ziuraitis had 30 points and 22 rebounds to lead St. Bonaventure (8-6, 3-0) in a Tri-Valley League game.

La Reina 56, Oak Park 30--Tara Deukmedjian scored 22 points to lead host La Reina in a Tri-Valley League game. Kelli Romney had 17 points and nine rebounds for Oak Park (3-7, 1-2).

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Occidental 89, CS San Bernardino 79--Jacqui Dent scored a game-high 27 points to lead host Occidental (7-7) in a nonconference game. Stephanie Francis added 14.
