Geffen May Increase Holdings: Record mogul David Geffen has received permission, under federal securities laws, to increase his holdings in Pinelands Inc. to 15% from 10.6%. Pinelands owns WWOR-TV, the New York area television station that was spun-off to MCA Inc. shareholders as part of the recent sale of MCA to Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. There is widespread speculation that WWOR will be sold to a major media company.
