3 Hurt in Suspected Drunk-Driver Crash
A Chino Hills man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving when his car crossed the center line on Carbon Canyon Road and collided head on with a vehicle carrying two women, one of whom is six months pregnant.
Police said Vern Thomas Mathew, 59, was in critical condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange on Wednesday. He was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving in connection with the Tuesday night crash.
The pregnant woman, Pamela Rae Lane, 29, was admitted to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana for observation and was listed in stable condition.
