From Staff and Wire Reports

The Athletics Congress was told Sunday not to allow world record-holders Butch Reynolds and Randy Barnes to compete in the United States for the time being.

TAC had said Reynolds, the record-holder at 400 meters, and Barnes, shotput record-holder, would be allowed to compete in domestic events until their appeals process against suspension for drugs use is complete.

But International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF) Council spokesman Franco Sava said in San Sebastian, Spain, Sunday: “These two athletes are suspended and must not take part in any competition, including national events.”
